Art Clay is my primary medium. It starts out as small lumps of gray clay and kiln or torch fires into pure silver.
Although I do make molds from antique buttons and jewelry, many of my pieces are one of a kind incorporating
semi-precious stones, copper, brass, or other metals like corborundum and titanium.
Due to a slight tendency toward masochism, I sometimes make my own silver chains incorporating chain maille patterns.

For many years, I was a potter who dreamed of adding precious metals and stones to hand thrown porcelain and raku pieces. But the process was unstable and costly, so I waited. When I first learned about pure silver and gold clay, I reacted as any other demented potter would, I spent money designated for food, shelter, and transportation on ugly, little lumps of clay. But the results have been worth the effort.
