I work with Acrylics, Oils, Mixed Media, Metals on Canvas, and Wood Panel to create contemporary abstract works. I love producing textured surfaces; and I use finishes that range from Ultra Matte to Glossy, and now have moved to Resin coatings which are so current. I feel that my pieces are able to be used in a modern way as well as transitional decor and as an eclectic piece in a traditional setting. Photos are unable to depict the true nature of the work because the textures and finishes really make the art to me, so please come see in person.

My artwork is all created by hand using ordinary knitting needles and various pliers. I have developed my own technique of knitting with wire, which I call “knitting off the needle.” With my technique I use only one needle at a time for the purposes of pulling the stitch and controlling the stitch size.

Funky Cottage is a local Heights business that restores and paints antique furniture pieces in funky, eclectic colors and techniques. The furniture consists of smaller side tables and nightstands (of which a couple are hoped to be featured at the market), and larger items such as dressers, chests, and armoires.
Original paintings are done on traditional canvases and art boards, using pen and ink, acrylics and watercolor. I enjoy working in a wide variety of media and currently my main focus has been creating jewelry redesigns (altered art). I greatly enjoy redesigning jewelry as finding just the right components to collage together into one-of-a-kind pieces is exciting! Another focus is embossed metal art (repujado). Working in 36 gauge metal sheets, I emboss my linear designs which I then embolden with blocks of bright enamel paint. I developed this bold style of embossed metal from the idea to keep the designs clear and colorful which results in a stained glass quality in its simplicity. My favorite motifs include the sun, sunflower, and heart. It makes me happy when my work brings happiness to others!

No two are exactly alike. Touching encouraged! Scarves are knit on large needles which makes them soft and bulky; perfect for any climate. Leftover lengths of yarn are then used to create unique multi-colored "recycled wraps."

My art is primarily using gourds. I incorporate several passions into my work. I use beadwork, textiles, iron work, clay and collage; to name a few. Of course I love nature, what artist doesn't, I actually use tree parts. Although, some of my work is functional and some non-functional. It's all pleasing to the eye and unique. What I consider non-functional are enjoyable interactive pieces with doors and windows. I work with a medley of mediums to make jewelry. I create a diverse range of body art to give the client a variety of opportunities to experience the beauty and satisfaction that can come from body ornamentation. My favorite medium to use is polymer clay. It allows me to make dramatic statement pieces that are wearable art. Many of these pieces incorporate beads that I have also handcrafted. These are my favorite pieces of jewelry to create. These pieces require a good deal of confidence to wear by the owner because they will wear you if you don't wear it like you "own it". These pieces have attitude! I also make pieces that are more conservative and whisper confidence.
