It may be the monarch butterfly that emerged from the chrysalis in my back yard or the "teenage" calves cooling themselves from the summer heat in a tank along Highway 6. Whatever the scene, I hope to bring the joy I feel in family, friends, everyday life and, in particular, everyday life in Texas, to others through the art I create.

Painting is a hobby I started a few years ago in grad school as a break from reading and writing. As I’ve learned to love the process and product of working with acrylics, my compositions have evolved from what I whimsically call “doodles” and “non-talking heads.” Continue reading

Tatting is rich in history and believed to be first used by ancient mariners. Often called the art of knotted lace. It is truly a delicate art form, almost lost and forgotten but now I am trying to revive it in my own special way.

b.bags was born August of 2008 when I, Lora Bunge, decided that I wanted to try my hand at sewing some simple bags out of upcycled and repurposed materials on my "new to me" hand-me-down 1970's Kenmore sewing machine. One thing led to another, and here we are today! All of my handbags are made out of upcycled clothes, fabrics, buttons, belts, bracelets, ties, you name it. I LOVE the concept of reusing materials and giving new life to something that may have otherwise ended up in the dump. And, of course, every b.bag is designed and handmade by yours truly! What is Steam Punk Jewelry? It gets its popularity from a growing resistance to corporate modernization, the mass commercialization of virtually everything, coupled with the surge of nostalgia for all things vintage and antique.
All jewelry is hand assembled, one of a kind and created by me and is 99% re-purposed or recycled found pieces,Broken unrepairable vintage jewelry, wind up watches, gears and other found objects that were considered "junk" and ready to be tossed away. I have rescued them and made beautiful Art pieces to be worn and cherished.
