I have been crocheting since I was a little girl. I like to work in a very small scale, producing tiny lace doilies, encircled in sterling silver, that you can wear. I also make larger doilies from vintage patterns and frame them under glass.

I learned to crochet at age 8. My grandmother taught me, giving me a wooden hook she whittled herself. Over time, as I scaled up my interest, I scaled down my dimensions. I am interested in preserving the particular needlecraft of thread crochet – the patterns and the technique. I hope to promote appreciation of this disappearing craft by displaying it in a new medium.
For inspiration, I use my growing collection of patterns from the 40s and 50s, from several thread manufacturers. Though the thread and hooks called for are quite fine to begin with, I have in most cases scaled them down even further. These vintage patterns are a starting point, requiring expert modification to be made small enough to be wearable as jewelry. Some styles use my own original patterns.
I use white cotton crochet thread and a vintage steel crochet hook. All the jewelry components are high quality sterling silver, very suitable for sensitive ears.
I also love making full-scale doilies, and I have hundreds of vintage patterns. Framing them under glass accentuates their perfect geometry.
