As a native Houstonian, Autumn Beckman graduated from the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, where she studied painting and photography, and she earned a BFA in painting from the University of Houston. She is currently working on a PhD in Psychology, looking at the ways women artists use their art to renegotiate their identity and meaning in life following Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans and Hurricane Ike in Galveston.

Autumn owns two art businesses, Autumn Beckman Photography www.autumnbeckmanphotography.com - providing portrait, pet, wedding, and event photography - and Autumn's Dogs (www.autumnsdogs.com) - providing custom portraits of pets in various mediums: drawing, painting, and photography. Autumn is proud to operate her businesses in environmentally and socially responsible ways; using green practices and donating proceeds to charity."
