The atmosphere at the Yale Street Arts Market is so much fun. The wonderful live music is one of my favorite things there, and really sets this market apart. The whole event is very comfortable and laid back, and the art and the artists are interesting. It’s been a very friendly and supportive place for me as an emerging artist. I live in the Heights and the Yale Street Arts Market makes it fun to work here too!

My wife and I showed at our first Yale Street Arts Market in April 2008 and had a blast. We met so many great people from fellow artists and attendees and we look forward to seeing them in the coming months. The great thing wasn't just what I sold that day, but that people did contact me after the show was over and I was able to continue selling due to exposure from this great venue. We look forward to coming back again and again!

Participating in the Yale Street Market over the last three years has given me a chance to introduce my new work to an appreciative audience and to meet some of Houston's best up and coming local artists. Many of the popular artists in Houston began at the Yale Street Market and went on to success in the Houston art scene.

I started Pretty Jewelry Things the summer of 2005 and the Yale Street Market has given me the opportunity to not only grow as a small business and get my name out to those who love jewelry, but display my unique sense of style and creativity. As an artist, I'm able to explain to patrons the history and idea behind each piece. Before, I would sell to my friends and the occasional passerby in a mall or grocery store when they would see my jewelry on me. The Yale Street Market's given Pretty Jewelry Things a base and a home.

Being a part of the Market is like finding a home. The camaraderie with the artists is tremendous and it gives you a sense of belonging. The collection of art and music is stimulating to all senses and you find yourself in a happy and relaxing environment to spend a great day talking about your art, their art, and all those other things that make up life in general. And it is an art collector's paradise to find so many collectibles in one place. I can't wait to pop back in. THANKS!

The Yale Street Market has a magic ingredient that's hard to describe. It's like an art gallery, music festival, and a day in the park all combined into one. And it's such a relaxed atmosphere that it's hard to tell the patrons from the vendors. I can't think of any other venue in Houston with such an entertaining and festive ambiance that is accessible free from the street.

Thanks,

My personal experiences at the Yale's Street Market are akin to the results of a wonderful treasure hunt. I always find something that I like and lust after. The art is of high quality and the atmosphere is devoid of high sales pressure. I like to talk to friendly artists that enjoy their craft. I attend as many of the first Saturday events as I can.

in peace
