About the market
First Saturday Arts Market features dozens of visual artists showcasing their work in what could be described as a scaled down art festival. Located in the Historic Houston Heights, visitors to this free event will find friendly artists with paintings, sculpture, photography, jewelry and many more popular art mediums. Houston Winery and Houston Cider Co., both located in the Heights, have wine and cider offerings and there is always a popular food truck on site. Local singer/songwriters can often be found entertaining at the market.
A Houston original, the market was founded in 2004, with a goal of bringing together artists and the public in a festival like atmosphere once per month. Today, the artists themselves review incoming applications, making the market a truly unique art experience for all visitors.
